Midtown East Commerce & Culture
There’s no shortage of activity around Midtown East. Fifth Avenue serves as the flagship residence for many international stores, particularly luxury goods brands. Plentiful shops have also staked a claim to Madison Avenue, especially over 59th Street into the Upper East Side. Barely across the neighborhood’s borders lay a diverse set of adored institutions. As the name suggests, the Museum of Modern Art exhibits an astounding array of modern art. Guarded by twin lion statues, the Main Branch of the New York Public Library is marvelous in its architecture, interior design, and breadth of collections. Rockefeller Center has you covered for even more shopping, plus seasonal musts like the complex’s eponymous Christmas tree and famed ice skating rink. And from a greenspace perspective, you can’t do much better than having Bryant Park at one corner of your boundaries and Central Park at the other.
